It's A Girl!!!

Prayer Request...

Please pray for us... I received a call from my dr's office last week informing us that after she reviewed my ultrasound results, she discovered I have partial placenta previa.

It is only partial and there is still a big chance that the placenta will move up over the next few months. I was told that I will have another ultrasound during my 34th week to see if the placenta has moved.

I have an ultrasound scheduled this Friday and the nurse said that it would be too soon for the placenta to move if it's going to.

But I know that I serve a very big God and I am believing that the placenta has already moved and that everything is fine!!!

If you pray, please stand with me that God has already taken care of this situation and what was meant to cause pain will be used to glorify Him!!!

Ultrasound update...

We had our ultrasound yesterday morning as scheduled and baby looks great!!! Unfortunately we were not able determine the gender. That's right - our little one had it's back turned to us the entire time and even though it was extremely active, it just wouldn't turn over. The tech tried for over an hour, but apparently our little one was too comfortable ... or maybe too modest... to show us anything!!!

Needless to say, we have been waiting a while to find out so we were a bit disappointed that we were unable to see anything. Until today...

I had another doctor's appt earlier today and apparently there were a few other things that the tech was unable to see clearly because of the baby's position. Because of this, my dr has scheduled us for another ultrasound on May 30th!!!

Prayerfully the baby will be facing us this time and we'll be able to tell this time!!! :-)

Ultrasound Later Today...

We finally have our ultrasound later this morning and are so excited!!! Our appt is at 10:30 am and we can't wait to find out if we're going to have a little girl or boy.

Please pray that everything goes well... that the baby is still healthy -- and we are praying for a daughter this time... pray, pray, pray!!! LOL (Again, we will still be happy if it's a boy, too!!!)

Update on DS

Thank you so much to everyone who prayed for DS yesterday!!!

As for the dr appt, DS was diagnosed with Cyclic Abdominal Migraines. He was given meds to take each night to prayerfully prevent anymore of these headaches. He was also given meds to take if he has another headache... I am believing he won't have to take any of these!

This has actually been going on for several years, but it used to be that DS would vomit repeatedly for no reason and then he would be just fine the next morning. It had been a while since he'd been sick like this until about 2 months ago. Only this time, he began having major headaches along with the vomiting.

Thanks again for your prayers and please continue to pray for him! We are believing that God has already healed him and that this whole situtation is a thing of the past!!!

Please pray...

Please pray for my little boy (DS)! He has a dr's appt at 10:45 am today. He has been getting very sick with headaches ... at least one a week over the last four weeks. Headaches are extremely painful and make him really sick at his stomach. Please pray that dr will find what is triggering these headaches and for complete healing!

Almost 19 Weeks Already!!!

It's hard to believe that our newest little one will be here in less than 5 months... AGGHHH!!! I would've never guessed several months ago that we would be almost halfway to having another child right now. It's not what I had originally planned, but what a nice surprise! :-)

I've had several people asking how I'm feeling these days and to tell the truth, although I am over the morning sickness, I still have days where I don't feel too great. I do push myself a little more nowadays, but it can still be really difficult sometimes.

Here are more answers to some other questions I've been asked -

Do I look pregnant now? Yes! I do have a "baby bump" now and it seems to get bigger and bigger each day. I began wearing my maternity clothes this past week so I really look pregnant in those. The neat thing is, I had just lost almost 35 lbs when I found out I was pregnant so most of the clothes I had set aside to give away have become part of my maternity wardrobe. LOL

Have I felt the baby move? Yes! I felt this baby move a lot earlier than I did with my first one so I've been feeling it move for well over a month now. I began feeling little kicks about 2 weeks ago!!! So sweet!!!

Any weird cravings? Not so far. The only thing I "crave" I guess would be orange soda... which I really don't care for any other time.


And the questions I am asked the most (I'm sure all parents are aware of these - LOL) -


Are you going to find out the gender? We are hoping to. My next ultrasound is scheduled for May 15. I'll be almost 22 weeks at that point so we should be able to ... if baby cooperates.

Are you hoping for a boy or girl? Honestly, we are praying for a daughter this time, but would still be ecstatic if it is a little boy. DS on the other hand is praying for a brother! LOL

Have you picked out any names yet? Yes! Bethany Grace for a girl and Caden Alexander for a boy.

That's all I can remember at this moment, but if I can think of anymore questions I'll add my answers in another post.

Our Newest Little Gift From God

MARCH 21, 2008 - 13 WEEKS

I'm still alive... :-)

It has been quite some time since I last wrote so I thought I'd write and let everyone know we are FINE! :-)

I am finally completely over the morning sickness and feeling a lot better now. Thanks so much to everyone who has been praying for us ... your prayers are appreciated more than you could ever know.

As for our new little one, I am 16 weeks along now. I had an ultrasound since my last post and everything looks great ... and, no, we weren't able to tell the gender just yet - too early! I do go for another ultrasound in a few weeks so prayerfully we'll be able to tell then. :-)

I will try to update this blog on a more regular basis now. Of course, this is probably going to be more of a pregnancy blog for the next several months, but at least I'll always have something to write about! LOL

Still here...

Just wanted to write a short note to let everyone know that we are still here. I apologize that I haven't written much in a while, but I've been very sick over the last few weeks with morning sickness, etc. Those with children know what I'm talking about... :-)

I did want to say thank you to everyone for the sweet comments and let you know that I really appreciate them!!! (((HUGS!!!)))

As for our new baby, this was TOTALLY unexpected!!! According to several doctors I am infertile, but according to God - nothing is impossible!!!

Honestly I am still a little bit in shock, but very excited! I did find out that I am due on Sept 19 so I am a little over 9 weeks at the moment.

I will write a little bit more about everything later. Hope you are all having an awesome week!!! :-)

Another Secret Sis Package...

I was a little bit late getting around to say Thank You for the last package I received and shortly after I posted my thank you, I have received another one... :-)

My dear Secret Sis sent me another sweet package that included 2 adorable heart-themed dish towels, some mocha latte mix (complete with a mixer/beater) and a very sweet card.

An Amazing Thing Has Happened...

I meant to put this on my Weight Loss Blog, but accidentally hit the wrong link and posted it on my Prayer Blog!

Thankfully I noticed this right away!!!! LOL

One Year!!!

I can't believe it, but this blog is a year old!!!

I've actually been blogging for a little over a year, but I kind of shyed away from it for a few weeks and when I decided to start again, I was unable to access my original blog. So I started a new one and this is the result!!! :-)

Blogging is so much fun for me... I now have 4 blogs!!! (WOW!!!) This time last year I would've never guessed I would be so into it, but I am!!!

Thanks to everyone who has been reading over the last year... don't know who all is reading this on a regular and that's probably a good thing! LOL

I plan to continue blogging throughout this year and prayerfully many years to come. This has been an awesome outlet for me and I have met some amazing people through blogging. Although we have never met in person, I believe that God sends different people into your life at different times for different reasons. And I believe that He has used this blog, as well as my other ones, to allow different people to speak into my life over this last year. And I am thankful for that!!!

And I pray that I have written at least something over the past year that has touched someone's life and that I have been able to showcase my God in a positive way. I know not all my posts have been great ones, but I do hope that I have been more of an encouragement than not!!!

I do hope that you have enjoyed my blog and that you'll continue to visit in the future!!! If this is your first time visiting, please feel free to read on and I hope that you'll enjoy yourself.

Looking Back ...

Today is a very special day for me!

Nine years ago today, I was almost 5 months pregnant and we had our second ultrasound. We had already had one done earlier when we thought I had lost the baby, but this was the one when we found out our baby was going to be a boy!!!

We were actually very lucky that we were able to find out that day because DS was an extremely active baby and kept moving. The technician had almost given up when we finally spotted that something! :-)

If you watch my video, you will see the words "It's A Boy!!!" being typed across the screen at the moment we were for sure that our baby was a boy.

I had always wanted a son first, but something about hearing it and knowing that I was going to have a little boy really freaked me out at first. I remember being in shock for about a week!!!

DH was so cute! You should have seen his face the moment the technician announced we were having a son... his smile lit up the entire room! He was on cloud 9 and hasn't come back down since that day!!!

When we got home that afternoon, he used our computer & made a graphic with the name we had picked out. He then made an iron-on patch and put the graphic on a onesie.

It was the one DS wore home from the hospital a few months later... :-)

Once again, I have received a lovely package from my secret sister!!!

I haven't been able to post pics of any of my pkgs due to my digital camera being out of comission, but I will share what she sent...

I received a lovely pair of slippers, a soap that smells wonderful (SPICE) and a great book that I'm sure I'll have read very soon.

It's so neat that she sent me all of these things because one of my favorite things to do is take a bath and then snuggle up with a good book to read. :-)

So thanks again, Secret Sister, whoever you are and I pray that God is blessing you as much as you've blessed me!!!

Better Day!!!

Thanks to all who said a prayer for me concerning yesterday... you are a blessing!!! :-)

I am feeling so much better today!!! Yesterday I was in a lot of pain which always causes me to be very emotional... hence the reason for the post. AAGGHH!!! lol

I started to come back and delete the post later last night, but you know, I think it's good that others can see that we're not always perfect and that things aren't always great. I would love to always be able to write about nothing but wonderful things, but honestly that's not reality for most people... or for me.

So even though I'm a little bit embarrassed that I wrote the last entry, I am ok with it now. And I'm going to leave it. It lets people know that I am real...

Bad day!!!

Today was probably one of the worst days I've had in a while. I won't bore with details, but I am really praying things are a lot better tomorrow!!!

We are doing fine...

It's been a while since I've really written anything about what we've been up to on this blog. I've been spending a lot of time on my other blogs and this one... my personal blog... usually ends up being a tiny bit neglected. OOPS! :-)

If you've been reading any of the other ones, especially our homeschooling blog, then you're pretty much up to speed already on what's been happening with us. And if not, we're doing great!!!

DH has been working LOTS lately so DS and I have been spending lots of time together just the two of us. We did have some snow last week so Daddy was able to take a day off in the middle of the week which was very rare, but also very nice!

We did have a great time playing in the snow. I even joined in this year! Normally I just watch them through a window, but this year I felt like being a kid again... and I had a blast!!!

As for anything new going on, one "new" thing for us is that DS is now the proud owner of a guinea pig named Scarlet... after the female character off of GI JOE. She is a sweetie!!!

And another thing I don't think I've mentioned on any of the blogs is that we also have a new parakeet named Skylar. We really felt like our other parakeet, Blue, needed a friend and my sister just happened to be needing to find all of her birds a new home. We thought about getting a couple of the other birds, but felt it might be a little much.

Blue and Skylar are getting along great! There is a lot more chirping now, but most of the time it's enjoyable to listen to. The only time it gets to be a tad bit annoying is when I'm trying to teach during the day or talk on the phone. Thankfully we are learning to tune them out... for the most part! :-)

So with the addition of Scarlet and Skylar, we are now a 7 pet family!!! That's right - 2 dogs, 2 rabbits, 2 birds and a guinea pig... what a combination!!! lol

Other than the snow and our new additions, things are about the same as the last time I updated. We are still loving our new house and have come up with lots of great ideas for home improvements. Of course, we will have to wait for a little while to do most of the things we want to do, but there are a few minor improvements we are already able to do. Wish us luck!!!

Today I received a "surprise" package from my secret sister filled with lots of goodies.

Along with a really sweet card wishing me a Happy New Year, she sent me a pkg of Cinnamon Cookie Cocoa, a box of Peppermint Double Chocolate Brownie Mix and a lovely dish towel.

My favorite season is Spring. I love it because it is warmer outside, but never gets too hot. I also love the blooming flowers and trees. Most of all, I was married in the spring!!!

What is your favorite memory?
When DH and I held our newborn son for the very first time!!!

A Wonderful New Year!!!

I am believing this is going to be a wonderful year!!! There is such an excitement inside me when I think about this new year and what it holds.

I decided not to make any "resolutions" this year, but I have set a few goals for myself. Here are a few -

Really get to know God this year! This means doing away with or changing things in my life that hinder my growth in Him!!!

Continue to lose all my extra weight. I would like to reach my healthy weight goal by the end of the year. It is feasible... I can do it!

Become a better wife!!!

Become a better mom!!! Continue to seek God for wisdom in raising my son.

Be more open to relationships and getting to know people on a more personal level. (Long story there!)

Become more organized! (This will probably be the hardest!!! LOL)

These are a few of the areas in my life that I will be working on this year. There are so many other things I would like to do, but I know I need to focus on a few at a time if I want to reach my goals.

I do hope that everyone will have an awesome year this year!!! I hope your new year is a blessed one and that everything you're hoping for this year will become a reality!!!
